A Breif History

Since 2001, Intense Design (now known at [id]) has been creating forward-thinking reactive website solutions that do more than just fizz. Websites that explode, that get noticed, and that generate the results our clients and their visitors demand.

Intense Design was born in Jay Boston's bedroom at the ripe age of 18 - noticing that the work being produced at University was not going to be suitable to gain a job once University was over. His true passion was art which later transformed into website design as a future method of artistic expression.

I NEEDED A DIGITAL SUPER HERO TO HELP ME WITH MY WEB, BRAND AND DESIGN NEEDS. I FOUND INTENSE DESIGN

From initially working on pharmaceutical web site solutions for free, Jay's design and quick page loading became known with the pharmaceutical industry and was being targeted. For 2 years, Intense Design coded and maintained 3 major natural pharmaceutical company websites.

Once Jay had established a name for himself within the industry, it was time to take the portfolio of work to other industries and markets. Marbletrend, one of Australia's biggest manufacturers of bathroom hardware, initiated Intense Design to rebuild their website from scratch. The static website took 2 months to complete and become an instant hit with visitors and search engines alike.

Within a few years, Intense Design had branched out to hosting the websites being produced on dedicated Australian servers. With the demand of our services, existing and potential clients were requiring a digital media agency that would service both offline and online digital media needs.

Freelancers and contractors were utilised to service this growing side of the business that included logo design, brand design, print management and graphic design.

Once the work level allowed a full-time creative to come on board, Intense Design hired its first coder/designer and moved into our large open-plan studio where we still remain. A dream was achieved and our sights were set on perfecting and maximising the true potential of digital media.

Over that year, Intense Design established 8 departments - each with their own unique offering, processes, systems and teams. Through our dedication to our clients and by listening to their requests, we have been able to evolve as a company by researching the disciplines we seek to undertake and only take on work we know we can deliver with exceptional results.

Strong Team Work

Our studio team of highly skilled super heroes collaborate every-day on all areas of digital media. Where a solution to an issue arises, we all come together to achieve the best outcome for our clients. We regularly participate in team morale building exercises, free lunch fridays, daily meetings and the occasional laugh.

Our external team of freelances, contracters, suppliers and consultants ensure Intense Design runs like a well oiled machine. We rely on our external team and they rely on us which requires a level of honesty, trust and commitment to the tasks and projects undertaken by all.

Excellent Working Environment

Our open-plan studio located in Armadale, Victoria, Australia is situated smack-bang in the middle of art galleries, high end fashion labels and designer accessories - all eager to creatively inspire and motivate. Polished floor boards provide a rustic feel to our warm studio while our white walls provide a blank canvas for creativity.

Our hardware and software is regularly updated to ensure the team has the best tools for the job. Guitars are available for a quick break, table-tennis games are always on to refresh the brain and tonnes of restaurants and cafes line the street with amazing pastries and coffees.

Forefront of Technology

Intense Hosting (our host department) is situated outside the Armadale studio in Sydney, Australia. This ensures our technology for hosting client sites and email is secure, monitored and upgraded the second new releases are available and out of beta mode. Internally, we ensure our solutions are browser tested, print proof'd and optimised for efficient distribution.

Technology is not just in our hardware. We also have a state of the art phone system, project management system, email promotion distribution system and accounting structure that ensures everything runs smoothly.

Citizen Focused

Our digital super heroes care for our digital citizens. It is the citizens of the digital world that are at the very core of our business. Without consumers, we wouldn't have clients. Without clients, we would have our digital communications business. Without our digital communications business, the web would deteriorate (we like to think so).
